This coffee is produced by the Ankole Coffee Producers Cooperative Union (ACPCU) in southwest Uganda. Founded in 2006, the cooperative has grown to 12,000 members who are organized in 20 “sub-cooperatives”. The cooperative is made up of different ethnic groups who even speak different languages but share the vision of quality coffee and an improvement in local living conditions. ACPCU is EU Bio, Naturland, Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance certified and thus meets the highest standards for the protection of human rights of the environment, as well as in the area of ecological cultivation at association level (stricter than that of the EU organic seal).
The coffee we buy is a semi-dry Arabica (honey) in Specialty Coffee quality.
Geographic region: South-West Uganda
in the regions: Bushenyi, Sheema, Mitooma, Ntungamo, Rubirizi, and Buhweju.
Cultivation height: 1400 – 1850m.
Characterized by a strong body, mild acidity and a taste profile of berries of the forest and caramel.
The green coffee was purchased at an FOB (free on board) price of US $ 1.92 / lbs, which is made up as follows:

+ USD 0.20 Fairtrade Premium
+ USD 0.30 organic bonus
+ $ 0.07 quality surcharge
With their commitment and the bonuses that ACPCU receives for the sale of specialty coffee and coffee via the certification systems, it has succeeded in building its own health center in addition to extensive investments to improve quality, with changing doctors from members of the cooperative, their families as well as treat the local population.
